When you click Settings → Payments → Connect payments, SalesThumb opens an inline onboarding form right there on the page — a short business-verification form from Rainforest, our payment processor — instead of sending you off to a separate site. You fill it out and submit it without leaving SalesThumb. Until that's done, Settings → Payments shows "Application in review" — sometimes with an extra status word or phrase from the payment processor next to it — and a Resume onboarding button so you can pick back up if you didn't finish in one sitting.
What the status text usually means
The word or phrase that shows up next to "Application in review" comes straight from the processor. Roughly translated:
- Just getting started / in progress — you (or whoever's completing it) haven't finished submitting the application yet.
- Processing / under review — submitted, and going through standard verification. This is the normal waiting state — nothing to do but wait.
- Needs more information — see Why is my application asking for more information? for exactly what that means and what to upload.
- Approved — you're done; see "Once you're approved" below.
- Declined — the application was rejected. Email info@roffik.com and we'll help you understand why and whether a corrected re-application makes sense.
Why it's not always instant
If you already have an account with our payment processor from a previous business, reconnecting can be close to instant. A brand-new application usually takes a few minutes to kick off, but can sit in review longer depending on your business details — this is normal underwriting, not a SalesThumb delay. There's no published guaranteed turnaround time.
Don't let it sit too long
An application left incomplete or unresolved for 120 days gets automatically canceled by the processor. If you started signing up a while back and come back to find your progress gone, this is almost always why — you'll need to start a fresh application rather than "resume" the old one, so it's worth finishing (or responding to a needs-information request) sooner rather than later.
If it's been a while
Read the status text carefully — it usually tells you exactly what's needed. If it's unclear, email info@roffik.com and we'll find out what's actually being asked for rather than you guessing.
Once you're approved
The page switches to "✓ Payments connected — you're ready to accept charges" and card payments go live immediately — no separate "activation" step required on your end.
